后缀-ent的含义、词源和例词
ent
拉丁形容词后缀-ent的用法与-ant相似。它可以加缀在动词或动词词根后，构成相应的形容词或表示行为者的名词。
1)充当形容词后缀时，意为that ～s（...的作用），其作用相当于英语的现在分词词尾-ing（...的），此类形容词往往有对应的以-ence或-ency结尾的表行为的名词。
2）-ent 作为名词后缀时，意为one that ～s （...者）,即表示该行为的主动者。
3）-ent 作为名词后缀时，表示物，意思为...物，...药。
下面介绍-ent表示行为者（人或物）的几个例词。
1.correspondent
n.通信者
ex)My mother and her sister have been regular correspondents for years,writing to each other weekly.我妈妈和我姨定期通信已经有多年，每周一封信。
